I've heard about him.

With a Walther in one hand, he's a diabolical master thief who never misses his mark.

We can't run from Lupin III.

RULES / GUIDELINES:

A.I. PROGRAMS.     Fuck generative AI. They're inherently unethical and a very lazy practice.BLANK BLOGS.     If you don't have a profile picture or description, I'm assuming you're a bot. Please shoot me a message beforehand if you're a WIP blog or something, so you don't get caught in my daily bot purges.FOLLOWING.     I will only interact with mutual followers or sideblogs I'm following. When breaking mutuals, I softblock (block-unblock) to avoid confusion, and ask that you do the same for me. Softblock or hardblock, whatever, but either way please make sure I'm not still following you. This onesidedness causes a lot of unnecessary confusion otherwise.BLOG CONTENT.     This blog is 18+ only and has the potential to feature and discuss a variety of potentially upsetting themes. Don't follow me if you're underage.TRIGGERING CONTENT.     I have no triggers, only discomforts. With that said, please tag explicit eye gore (both written and images), and dentistry imagery. Due to the nature of the source material I'm drawing from, certain common triggers—death, blood, childhood abuse, general violence—shall be left untagged due to their frequency.RELATIONSHIPS.     Pre-established ones outside of those shown in canon must be discussed first, so both parties remain on the same page about what to expect from the muses' dynamic. I am open to a wide variety of relationships and have no issue with exploring something and retconning whatever doesn't work. Nothing needs to be set in stone immediately! Shipping is also available, but be aware that Lupin is not really the type for committed monogamy, and he's always got some relations on the side. He's very open about this.NSFW CONTENT.      It's pretty likely, honestly, and everything will be tagged and community labelled. Both sexual NSFW and excessive violence will only be written with partners 21+, for my own comfort.IC INTERACTIONS.     There's no expiration date on memes, asks, or threads. On a similar note, I can be very slow when getting to things while I'm working, so I would really appreciate your continued patience with me there.ORIGINAL CHARACTERS.     Love them! An about page is appreciated so I know what kind of information I've got to work with, but I'm flexible as long as you're prepared to tell me about your OC and answer any questions as they come up.CROSSOVERS.     I'm totally down with them and will be more than happy to explore other verses with your muse. Lupin is incredibly easy to slot into other worlds with limited (if any) changes needed, so there's always going to be a possibility for our muses to meet.TIMELINE.     Who knows, honestly. Better yet, who cares. I draw primarily from latter Part 1 onwards with minimal emphasis on (most of) the movies, but 乁(ツ)ㄏ. Cherrypicking what parts of canon to use is half the fun of having an episodic show to draw from.FORMATTING.     I use bold, italics, and occasional coloured text for emphasis. This can be changed if it's too much for you.ICONS.     I use them! The majority of my manga icons were kindly given to me by Harvey / @zenigatakeibu, with any additional ones coming from @tigerstreifen's post. Any icons from the Koike movies were given to me by Tiff / @perceptualephemera. I added the frames to all of the above, but lay no claim on the bases themselves. Any other icons were capped and edited entirely by yours truly.REBLOG KARMA.     I don't enforce it. You're welcome to reblog non-RP posts from me, includings musings, aesthetics and inbox memes. Just don't use me as purely a resource.INTEREST TRACKER.     I do have one! You can find it here, and both old and new followers are invited to complete it.

These rules are especially important and fall outside of my usual default list, hence their special little section down here.

OVERPOWEREDNESS.     I recognise that Lupin is an overpowered character. That is his entire foundation and a big part of what it means to be not only a third generation master thief, but the world's most wanted one. And while there's not an awful lot I can do about that (not unless I want to lose everything that makes Lupin, Lupin), I must stress that I do want to make sure things are being consented to by both sides.               I am more than happy to cater our interactions to your comfort or address any concerns you may have, but if there is pertinent information not clearly available on your rules or bio pages, I will need you to let me know where these lines are being drawn. Even a simple TL;DR would be exceedingly helpful.UNFAMILIARITY.     Not a problem at all! I suggest reading this post first and foremost, and then directing any questions you have towards me. That linked guide should cover a lot of the necessary information a total newcomer to the franchise will need, and I worked very hard on it.REBLOGS.     Screencaps and the like are available for reblog by everyone, but I mute notifications on those posts the second the personals find them to spare my activity. Simiarly, I don't mind my headcanons being reblogged by mutuals, provided they remain within the RP circle and don't slip out into the wider fandom spaces. Personals who reblog my headcanons or IC writing will be asked to delete the posts and blocked upon refusal or repeat offence.

MUSE BIOGRAPHY:

NAME.     Arsène Lupin the Third, though he's most often referred to as Lupin.
AGE.     Late twenties to early thirties. Cut it somewhere in the middle and say thirty.
ZODIAC SIGN.     Aquarius, with his birthday on February 10th.
ETHNICITY.     Japanese/French.
ASSOCIATES.     All of Lupin's known family members, including his predecessors Arsène Lupin and Lupin II, are dead. He instead leads what is colloquially known as 'the Lupin gang' consisting of three additional persons: Daisuke Jigen, Goemon Ishikawa XIII, and Fujiko Mine.

Lupin III, the grandson of Arsène Lupin: phantom 'gentleman burglar' of France, continues the family legacy as the world's most successful (and most wanted) thief. He targets treasures all across the world, from ceremonial jewels to one-of-a-kind museum artifacts, to the riches hidden in Pharoah Tutankhamen's tomb. Once he sets his sights on something and has sent his calling card heralding the date of his planned heist, there is very little that can stand between him and his prize. He's not necessarily in it for the money, however. Lupin's known to be reckless with his finances, losing millions in failed heists or quickly blowing through the riches they do manage to steal. It's all meaningless to him. Instead, this game is all about the thrill, the fun of going after something heavily guarded and stealing it just to prove he can. Instrumental to this thrill is the other side of his coin, Inspector Zenigata, the only person on earth able to predict his actions and actually catch him, no matter how temporary his success may be. Though they are moral opposites, Lupin finds himself growing ever fonder of the Inspector's company, and considers him just as much a part of his gang as the people he allies himself with.Personality-wise, Lupin is a man of many layers. He's hidden behind so many layers of performance that it can be difficult to discern where the act ends and his true self begins. He has no regard for the law and has built his entire identity off of breaking it, but he sticks closely to his own personal honour code and is bound by the rules he's put in place. He's very comfortable in his identity as a criminal, but takes a certain pleasure in tearing down those guilty of far worse crimes, and will often sidetrack his own heists in order to bring about their downfall in dramatic Lupin III fashion. Though his outward persona can be silly and difficult to take seriously, it hides a great intelligence and mastery of just about every skill a thief could need - including, but not limited to, safecracking, gadget invention, disguise / voice imitation, and escape artistry. It's in his interest to be underestimated, for a foe that doesn't know what they're getting themselves into is all the easier to trick and trap in his game.Perhaps most remarkable is his extensive polyglotism, which grants him a fluency in a wide array of languages and even one or two obscure, dead ones. Canon has shown him to hold at least some understanding of Japanese, French, English, Russian, Spanish, Italian, German, Turkish, Dutch, Capraan, Latin, and a few computer languages. It's generally understood that he knows enough to get by no matter where in the world his adventures take him.His one true weakness is women, more specifically his on-again, off-again ally-enemy-lover Fujiko Mine, who's betrayed him many times and has been forgiven each time. Lupin can't resist any request made by a pretty face, and this need to pursue each new infatuation has landed him in trouble more times than he can count.

Any additional verses, either created for crossover purposes or as 'What-If?' scenarios of Lupin's own canon, can be seen here. They don't require anywhere near the level of detail shown above, and only detail the major changes and what you need to know. Lupin, as a character, remains consistent throughout. For further information on him, feel free to check out my PUBLIC V. PRIVATE INFO post, or my MAJOR HEADCANONS and MINOR HEADCANONS tags.

VERSES & AUS:

POKÉMON AU. Lupin III, the world's most wanted thief and grandson of Kalosian 'Gentleman Burglar' Arsène Lupin. Eveything remains the same as it is in canon, though he's now joined by his Ditto, Sneasel, Salandit, Kecleon, Aipom and Thievul. All of them (except Ditto) have been taught his signature move of Thief and often participate in his heists.               Points of interest: Lupin's Kecleon has an unusual colouring and looks very similar to the purple Kecleon shopkeep in the Mystery Dungeon series. It's suspected they have some sort of genetic oddity that grants them this pseudo-shiny appearance.MONSTER AU. Lupin is a three-tailed kitsune, specifically a yako spirit on the trickster side of things. He leans more towards mischief as opposed to outright malice, but is capable of both under the right circumstances. He enjoys thieving from people with excessive wealth or pride, taking pleasure in the immediate aftermath and the people's attempts to chase him down and retrieve their lost goods, and remains neutral towards most others as long as he is not provoked. Much like with his canon self, Lupin is very weak to the charms of a pretty face, and often attempts to harness the kitsune's seductive powers to win the affections of whatever lovely ladies (or gentlemen) cross his path. He is rarely successful.               Points of interest: As the third host of the yako spirit, Lupin III is the most fox-like out of any of them. His mirror reflection and shadow will always reveal some hidden characteristics (such as his tails, snout, or the pointed ears atop his head), and his eyes have the slitted pupil commonly seen in wild foxes. Though he has mastered the art of transformation and makes for a very convincing human, there are always tells available.MORE TO BE ADDED.

MUN INFORMATION:

Pluto; twenty-six; he/him pronouns. Not usually active during weekdays because of my job, but I do have the mobile app installed and check it reguarly for followers/asks and the like. IC content, though, comes slowly. You're always welcome to nudge me if you think something's been lost or forgotten, but chances are it's just something I haven't gotten around to yet.I hop around blogs a lot. Add me on discord for easiest communication - IMs are rarely my friend, and I often lose track of conversations on there. My Monokuma icons were originally capped by @yumis-icons here on Tumblr, and I use them as my OOC faceclaim. I added some minor editing and a frame, but I lay no claim to the original bases. Iconning information for Lupin, including credit where it's due, can be found up in my rules page.
